MUSEION EXCHANGE

The 2024 East Bay Dirt Classic is in the books, and we at C510 have agreed it was the best year yet. We’re incredibly thankful it was not this past weekend in 98 degree weather. But mostly we’re grateful to all of you for joining us in this annual event to support our friends at the Alameda County Community Food Bank. Through registrations, donations and raffle tickets we raised over $70,000 this year!

Huge congratulations to our top competitors for 2024!:

Our top female finishers:

  1. Alex Tripcevich
  2. Noelle Davis
  3. Katrina Rapa

Alex, a Berkeley High student, was not only our top female finisher but also our QOM holder and Best Young Rider! Since our sponsors are heavy on the beer and wine, we had to make some last minute changes since she took home more than one top prize…She’s clearly going to have a couple more years of strong showings here at the East Bay Dirt Classic.

Our top male finishers:

  1. James Kinney
  2. Sandy Floren
  3. Jason Tang

Fresh of his recent Tunnel Road KOM setting ride, James also set the KOM for our 2024 EBDC segment. His win was due after a couple of 2nd place finishes i the past. Our best young male rider award this year went to 16 year-old Oliver Jacobs. Oliver told us he DNF’d last year. Then he came out this year to notch 6th in a very fast field. Definitely more to come from Oliver next year.

Please check out photos from the event here and here! Many thanks to C510 members Josh Posamentier, Ben Duchac and Peter Lockett for chronicling the event!

We’ll be back on again next year with our hope to return to mid-October. Watch out for our “Save the Date” in the coming months.

Finally we want to acknowledge our generous sponsors who donated some incredible prizes for our top finishers and raffle winners. Please take some time to visit them at their links below:

Thank you again for your support. Safe riding and hope to see you next Fall!

Looking forward to seeing everyone Saturday morning! The address of the registration site and after-party is: 5656 Weaver Place, Oakland, CA, 94619. Please park along Skyline Drive, NOT on Weaver Place.

Registration onsite opens at 8 am. Please arrive early to help ease the registration process. Wave 1 will have a neutral roll-out at 9 am. Waves 2 and 3 will have neutral roll-outs in 15-20 minute intervals after Wave 1. Current weather forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with temperatures in the low 60s at the start.

The post-event barbecue will begin as riders return following the event, with food available beginning around 12 pm. Awards and raffle will begin at 1:30 PM. We have great prizes for our top finishers, KOM and QOM segment winners and raffle ticket winners. There is a pool and currently temperatures near the end of the event are forecast to be sunny and in the low 70s, so bring a bathing suit if you want to swim.

The 2024 course is here: 2024 East Bay Dirt Classic Course. Please download the route to your preferred GPS device to avoid missed turns. We will mark any tricky parts of the course, but despite marking the course in each of the prior editions, there have remained confusing intersections. Of note, this year’s course stays on Goldenrod the entire time until Jackson Grade whereas in previous years the course used Jalquin Trail. So stay on Goldenrod the entire way to Jackson Grade:

Also, currently the San Leandro Creek is full, so riders will have to dismount at the foot bridge between Honker Bay and Cameron Loop and walk bikes across.

For those who have elected to compete in the virtual edition of the 2024 EBDC, you can view the leaderboard here: Current Virtual Course Leader Board. If you don’t see your name here and have ridden it, please let us know.

Please feel free to reach out with any last minute questions. See you all Saturday!
